The WM-Net Zero team recently took part in the UKRI/MET Clean Air Conference 2024, an influential gathering of researchers, policymakers, and experts dedicated to advancing clean air initiatives and tackling pollution. Held over three days, this year’s conference provided a platform for discussing pressing environmental issues, the latest air quality research, and policy innovations.
Our team contributed with both oral and poster presentations, sharing insights from our ongoing projects that explore sustainable transport, air quality modelling, and the health impacts of environmental interventions across the West Midlands.
Highlights from the conference included keynote addresses on the intersections of social justice, health, and air quality, led by respected voices such as Professor Sir Michael Marmot and Professor David Topping. These discussions underscored the importance of integrating public health and equity in environmental policymaking.
Through workshops, networking sessions, and engaging breakout discussions, our team connected with other professionals committed to creating healthier, low-emission communities.
