WM-Net Zero is pleased to announce an upcoming knowledge exchange event, “Transport Research and Policy: Knowledge Exchange Towards a Shared Agenda,” taking place on 26 August at the Priory Rooms, Birmingham. This event is co-organised by colleagues at the University of Birmingham in collaboration with the Transport Geography Research Group of the Royal Geographical Society.
The workshop aims to bring together policymakers and academics from across the UK to develop a shared understanding of research needs and policy priorities at the intersection of transport geographies. Participants will discuss how academic research can inform policy-making, with a strong emphasis on people, place, and placemaking.
Highlights of the afternoon will include:
- Discussions on policy priorities and potential academic contributions.
- Opportunities for researchers and practitioners to share key insights and innovative approaches.
- Expert insights on effective ways for academics to engage with policymakers and influence policy processes positively.
This event is particularly relevant for professionals involved in local transport policy, the intersections of health and sustainability, active travel, and behaviour change.
