A new tool to explore how climate action affects health, inequalities and economic resilience across the West Midlands.

The Climate–Health Explorer is a new free online tool developed by the WM-Net Zero and WM-Adapt teams to help users understand the links between climate action, health outcomes, and economic resilience.

Using local and regional data, the Explorer allows users to investigate how different transport and housing scenarios could affect air quality, public health, health inequalities, and wider economic outcomes across the West Midlands.

Whether you work in local government, public health, housing, transport, academia, or the voluntary sector, the Explorer can support evidence-informed decision-making and help identify opportunities to deliver climate and health benefits together.

What can you do with the Explorer?

  • Explore climate and health data across the West Midlands
  • Compare different transport and housing scenarios
  • Understand potential health impacts and co-benefits
  • Examine links between climate action, inequalities and economic outcomes
  • Access evidence to support policy and planning discussions
